APHEO invites abstract submissions for poster presentations and oral presentations (including workshops) at its 2018 conference & workshop to be held November 25 to 27, 2018 at the Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The conference theme, A New Way Forward: Navigating a Path for Local Epidemiology, will provide an opportunity for Public Health professionals to meet these objectives:
  • Share implementation and operationalization strategies for the new Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS).
  • Discuss the role of the epidemiologist for evidence-informed decision-making in the local context.
  • Explore tools and methods for assessing health inequities and identifying priority populations.
  • Network with colleagues and strengthen connections.
Submissions should be relevant to these conference objectives.

Submission Process

All abstracts must be submitted online using the submission form below.  The submission deadline is July 27, 2018.

Those submitting may choose either a poster presentation or an oral presentation/workshop format. Physical posters will need to be printed and displayed for the entire conference. Oral presentations could take several formats and those submitting can specify details in the online form.

Abstracts will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the abstract
  • Originality
  • Relevance to the conference theme and objectives
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference/Workshop Planning Committee. Decisions will be sent early fall. Abstracts accepted at the 2018 APHEO Conference & Workshop will be published online as part of the event.

Please contact Kelsie Near or Lydia Cheng if you have any questions.
