The Core Data Advisory Collaboratives (CDACs) are data-centric topic-specific workgroups aligned with the Ontario Public Health Standards, its Protocols, APHEO’s Core Indicator Project and associated public health unit (PHU) operational work. With the revised Ontario Public Health Standards being released in late 2025, additional topics will be added to align with the OPHS topic-areas.

The CDACs aim to:
  • Support collective knowledge exchange activities of PHU-developed resources that can be adapted to local context and expertise;
  • Facilitate discussion and problem-solving, in the context of local public health unit work and reporting needs (e.g. workload, sub-geography analysis);
  • Enable more timely and responsive analysis and reporting for local PHU needs, decision-making and action;
  • Share public health unit developed analysis, approach, files and products (resource sharing) for adaptation by other health units to support local use;
  • Support topic-based indicator development, in alignment with APHEO’s Core Indicators Project;
  • Provide a streamlined approach to topic/data-specific advocacy work (e.g., letter writing) by subject matter experts, as needed;
  • Support members in forming smaller groups to work on time-limited, priority data-centric portfolio work that impacts many public health units;
  • Serve as a topic/data-specific Community of Practice, and point of contact for both internal and external sector consultations;
  • Create a mentorship space for new members to engage in topic-specific work.
